abstract:161 carabid species were recorded in a total of 62 5x5 km grid cells within the territory of Luxembourg in the years 2005 and 2006. Te recording of 154 species succeeded within a representative selection of nine grid cells. Amara sabulosa (Audinet-Serville, 1821) is new to the fauna of Luxembourg. Tree other species had not been recorded from Luxembourg for more than six decades. Te ecological data and the distribution of a number of rare species are briefly outlined.
